How Naltech proved its sustainability impact with RTRS-certified soy

Naltech is a Lima-based organization whose purpose is to develop efficient and innovative nutritional solutions to sustainably enhance aquaculture and strengthen the trust of their customers. The company creates a variety of fish feeds for shrimp and trout farming.

As global demand for responsible agriculture rises, so do opportunities to lead the way. Naltech’s team was already having internal discussions on the topic—but with a growing desire to prove impact, they knew it was time to make sustainability a priority.

While the team had ambition, the challenge was localizing and proving impact. Additionally, to maintain their BAP certification, they needed to show that 50% of their fish feed was sourced from certified sustainable plant-based sources. To fully step into the leadership role, they knew they needed some support.

Our partnership with Naltech started with a review of their sustainability goals. We worked with the team to understand their business and sustainability missions, then built a plan that aligned the two. It was clear that RTRS certification—auditable proof of responsible soy production—was the right choice for the business. The certification would help Naltech promote better farming practices in sensitive ecosystems, provide verified proof of their commitment, and help them maintain their BAP certification.

After finalizing the plan, we sourced 25.000 traceable RTRS credits for Naltech and ensured they had full visibility over how and where their investments were used. We also supported them with documentation and impact data to meet stakeholder expectations.

With the new RTRS credits, Naltech was able to retain their BAP certification—and go beyond expectations. The RTRS certification helped Naltech support sustainable agriculture across regions that are the most at risk, raise awareness for high-deforestation areas, support local communities, and increase impact beyond their value chain.

To prove their impact, we also helped Naltech produce their first sustainability report to share with stakeholders. It helped the team show measurable progress and positioned them as a more credible partner in responsible aquaculture.

“Working with ACT has allowed us to meet our sustainability goals and to better understand the true impact of our sourcing decisions. At the same time, this is helping us get closer to our purpose of enhancing aquaculture with sustainable nutritional solutions” - Naltech
